When: Begins June 14, 2008 (18 wks) Where: Truman Parkway Park N Ride, 7:00 am
If this is the year for you to make the commitment to do the ANNAPOLIS TEN MILE RUN, ARMY TEN MILE RUN, or the inaugural BEN MOORE MEMORIAL HALF MARATHON, this program will prepare you. You will receive individual attention from certified coaches with years of experience and the companionship of other runners working toward the same goals.
This training program is for runners of all abilities and emphasizes several training techniques such as interval, tempo run, fartlek and hill training. The program will also highlight nationally recognized Coach Ken Mierke’s Evolution Running technique and Heart Rate Monitor Training. There will be instructional discussions on proper stretching, chiropractic for runners, benefits of massage, nutrition for runners, CPR/First Aid, and Performance Enhancement Imagery.
Our groups will meet and run together twice a week. The groups will meet on Saturdays at 7:00am at the Truman Parkway Park N Ride and on Wednesday's at 6:00pm at the Annapolis High School track. You should be comfortable running a minimum of 15 miles a week and 4-6 miles at any one time before the program begins.

Less than 1% of the population can run a 26.2 miles. Those that do find it to be a life confirming moment they will never forget. Join us and take this difficult but rewarding journey with others with the same goal - FINISH YOUR FIRST MARATHON. Those who have done a marathon previously but are looking a group to train with are WELCOME to join us. We get GUARANTEED ENTRIES to the MARINE CORPS MARATHON, BALTIMORE, and STEAMTOWN marathons for all first-timers and a limited number of previous marathon participants. You will only have one FIRST Marathon. Train for it properly. Take the challenge and join us. TRAINING COURSEThe same basic course that has been used for 28 years - with some occasional scenic, but challenging diversions. |
